When your day is done and you wanna run. Crochet.
She don't lie
she don't lie
she don't like.
Crochet.
Showing and telling at Leonie's.
Degree of difficulty: Easy. The pattern is available on this blog if you would like to try it for yourself
Time taken: 4 hours
Result: Definitely use a 5.0 crochet hook. I used a 4 as that was the only hook I have that was close in size. The beanie is made from 8 ply wool so there is plenty of stretch in it, but the size is more suited for a newborn. Or a doll. Or just something that doesn't express any opinion whatsoever.
Ahh you crack me up! Do you know anytime I talk to my husband about something on your blog I say "you know, the top gun crochet lady"... you just keep giving :p and the beanie is lovely! the colour and the pattern! thanks for joining x
ReplyDeleteTop Gun crochet lady, I sound like a lot of fun ;P. I bet your husband is dying to meet me :).
Deletehaha - at least you have a point of reference as it led to a huge top gun discussion and me chuckling a whole evening away :) I think he is just pleased to know who the heck I'm talking about half the time :)
DeleteIt's actually really nice to know that I made someone else smile. I have to say that the first weekend after I wrote that blog post, I walked into Spotlight and that song was being played in store. I walked around the whole time with a smile on my face. It will never be quite the same song again.
DeleteHa!
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Leonie, it's a pity the intended recipient doesn't :).
DeleteWould you like it? It's such a shame to have a well-dressed doll. Do you know anyone with a newborn girl? First offer to you.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous. Could you extend it for yourself? Maybe the recipient might like it if she thinks she'll lose it to you?
ReplyDeleteI did consider it, but it would have meant buying another ball of wool to finish it, and I am trying to use up what I have, not buy more. My plan is failing terribly so far though :).
DeleteThis is such a cool post :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. Hope all is well with you.
DeleteYour sense of humour takes me back to our supermodel sign on our door in 1st year uni - 18 years ago!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't really feel that long ago at all. You were such a bad influence on me :).
DeleteTerrible, I made you get drunk and jump that chair of course!!!
DeleteI don't remember that incident, therefore it did not happen :).
DeleteLOL!!! very funny!! love those pics and this post :))) bum that it didn't fit.....one for the gift box?
ReplyDeleteI found a home for it, so glad it might see use on a human head.
DeleteMy youngest is 12 months, on the smaller side. Do you think it would fit her?? So cute x
ReplyDeleteIt's yours. Will send you a message for postal details.
